Lake Hayes is a beautiful lake located just north of Queenstown, New Zealand. There are various viewpoints if you want to stop and have a quick look, or you can walk the complete lake circuit, an easy track offering gorgeous lake views. I’m a fan of Lake Hayes, as my last name is Hayes. I always imagined my address as Richard Hayes, Hayes Drive, Lake Hayes. We all live and dream.

Spectacular views of the lake and mountains

The views of the lake and surrounding mountains are worth the trip to visit Lake Hayes at all times throughout the year. However, winter is my favourite time.
