The 2025 ski season in New Zealand, and if you're been to the South Island, you’ve likely already had a decent taste of winter.
Treble Cone open and officially kicked off the 2025 winter season last weekend (28 June 2025).
Mt Hutt open for the 2025 ski season and there is no shortage of snow. The best snowfall in the country so far.
Cardrona is open. Kicking off the 2025 ski season with great snow conditions.
UPDATED: 27 June. School holidays are here - and if you’re heading to the slopes, the South Island is where the snow is at the moment!
There’s something about skiing at night that just feels different. The air cools down, the lights come on, the music starts and the mountain feels a bit more yours.

UPDATED: June 27. Is Tūroa open? Yes, Tūroa is officially open. At present, only Alpine Meadows is open, which is a great spot to learn to ski.
