Coronet Peak night skiing is back for 2025

Coronet Peak Night Skiing

There’s something about skiing at night that just feels different. The air cools down, the lights come on, the music Starts and the mountain feels a bit more yours. That’s the magic of night skiing – and Coronet Peak does it better than anyone.

If you haven’t skied at night, you should – it’s a lot of fun. The atmosphere is completely different than during the day, the music, the nightlife…

You can night ski at Coronet Peak From 4pm to 9pm on Wednesdays and Fridays, the mountain stays open long after the sun goes down. You’ll can catch the last of the sunset from the top, then carve into the night with Queenstown glowing in the valley below.

Coronet Peak Night Skiing

Night skiing at Coronet Peak isn’t just about the skiing

It’s about the feeling – carving under the lights, laughing with your mates, music in the background. It’s winter in New Zealand at its best.

The snow is usually in great shape – groomed and fast – remember not all the runs are open on the mountain (only the lit ones, obviously). Rentals are available on the night, so even if you’re new to it, you can still get amongst it. And when your legs need a break, the deck is the place to be. There’s music, food, firepits, and that familiar mix of cold fingers and warm drinks that just feels like skiing.

And if you’re looking for a night with a bit more energy? This season, Coronet Peak is turning it up with a one-off live show from Aussie legends Peking Duk. It’s free to enter, and their set will turn the base area into the biggest après scene in the country. Of course, the main show is still out on the snow – but having a few thousand people dancing at the bottom doesn’t hurt either.

Layer up, grab your pass, and ski under the stars.

Coronet Peak Night Skiing times
