Cardrona weekly update for July 1
Last Saturday, Soho Express has had the official blessing, but they’re still waiting on a bit more snow before it’s ready to ride. The video will explain why.
Here’s what’s open at Cardrona this week: McDougall’s Chondola, Whitestar Express, Captain’s Express, Valley View (Uplift only), T-Bar and the Learner Conveyors.
Captain’s Pizzeria is serving up the favourites, and the brand new Noodle Bar is open from 7.30am each day – complete with one of the best views on the mountain. So if you’re heading up for the school holidays, there’s plenty happening for a great day at Cardrona.
Cardrona opened Saturday, June 14
Kicking off the 2025 ski season with McDougall’s Chondola and the Learner Conveyors running. Thanks to a solid snowmaking effort, and a timely boost from Mother Nature – opening conditions are looking great. Some say the best since 2002.
Skiers and snowboarders will have access to McDougall’s trail, the Beginners’ Area, plus the North Face Cardrona Parks Crew will put in a few features in McPark (the temporary early season terrain park under McDougall’s).
To reflect the limited early terrain, day passes are priced at early season rates until Whitestar Express opens. And for those chasing bragging rights – yes, First Chair tees are back.
Food and drink options will be running at Mezz, Base Café, Base Bar, and Vista Bar, with the new Cardrona base building nearly finished. The Cardrona Corner retail shop is also aiming to open on Saturday.
So if you’re wondering when Cardrona opens for winter 2025 – the answer is this Saturday. Get your gear ready, because the season starts now.
