Protect Our Winters Aotearoa (POW NZ) is a community of outdoor enthusiasts, athletes, scientists, businesses, and individuals united by a shared commitment to tackling climate change. Launched in 2018 as part of the global POW network founded by professional snowboarder Jeremy Jones, POW NZ brings a distinctly Kiwi perspective to climate advocacy. In a nation so deeply connected to its whenua (land), hapori (communities), and maunga (mountains), the organisation believes New Zealanders have both the opportunity and the responsibility to safeguard the natural environments we love—ensuring they thrive now and for future generations.
